Schwarzenegger, Stallone hang at hospital and Denzel Washington waterboarded while filming

Two aging action stars walk into a hospital. It sounds like the beginning of a lame joke, but it really did happen to Arnold Schwarzenegger, 64, and Sylvester Stallone, 65, who found themselves gurney-to-gurney on Wednesday.Ah-nuld explained their unusual, and apparently unplanned, meet-up on his WhoSay blog:”After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder. Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb.”Later this year, Schwarzenegger and Stallone will shoot The Tomb together and will star in The Expendables 2 with fellow over-the-hill actor friends Chuck Norris, 71, Bruce Willis, 56, Dolph Lundgren, 54, Jean-Claude Van Damme, 51, and Jet Li, 48.Australian actress Naomi Watts is taking on the role of a lifetime: Princess Di.
She has just been cast as the late royal, who died in 1997 at age 36 in a Paris car crash, in the upcoming movie Caught in Flight.
Watts recognized her new role in a statement praising Princess Diana: “It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role. Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen.”It has been a busy month already for Watts, who landed in Sydney with her family last week. She promoted Jacob’s Creek wine at a party on Feb. 1 and was spotted on the beach filming The Grandmothers with co-star Robin Wright on Tuesday.
Talk about going all out for a role. While filming his thriller Safe House, in theaters Friday, Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington says he endured a torture session that included actual waterboarding.
“I wanted to see what it would be like,” he tells New York magazine. “It’s strange. You can’t breathe in, because the water comes in, and it’s filling up your mouth. And that was just one time for a short time. Imagine having that done for 20, 30 seconds? You will give up the answers! You may not necessarily tell the truth, but you will tell (your captors) whatever they want to hear.”Washington was bent on doing the scene himself, less-than-enthused director Daniel Espinosa reveals. “I went up to Denzel and told him, ‘Time to go, now is the moment where the stunt guy kicks in,’ and he looked at me and he said, ‘Let’s go.’ ‘Are you sure?’ ‘I’m sure,’ ” Espinosa says. “And I was terrified, but I let him go and I had to watch him do it.”
Co-star Ryan Reynolds adds that it was hard for him to watch, even in character.
“He went all out for this movie. I would definitely not like to be waterboarded. It was intense. Disturbing,” Reynolds says. “I had sympathetic pain. I always get sympathetic pain. I wish I didn’t. I felt like I was drowning.”
